COACH

Coach Ken began playing football at age 8 in a rural town as a midfielder on a weak elementary school team. In junior high, he transitioned to goalkeeper, playing for an equally weak team. Despite initial struggles, Ken’s perseverance paid off in high school, where, despite criticism, he dedicated himself to intense practice. His efforts culminated in a standout performance during a crucial tournament match, earning his team a 1-0 victory against a strong opponent.

This turning point led to his selection for the Iwate Prefecture high school team. At university, Ken was recognized as one of the best players in the national tournament and played internationally in Korea as part of Japan’s “Special” Team. In a memorable match against K-League champions, his confident performance earned him the tour MVP and a gift of custom-made cleats from a Japan national team star.

Ken’s story is one of resilience, growth, and achievement against the odds.
